My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in mid-February '08, and despite the high level of glitzy advertising, the hotel is showing its age. General layout is quite good, with an octagonal arrangement of rooms around a huge central courtyard with a pool.Hanging plants from the top storeys give the courtyard a "hanging gardens" feel. There's a sizeable amount of underground and above ground parking for guests, but it was always pretty full, too. There's no elevator from the underground carpark to the hotel, only a flight of stairs. This seems unusual, as there are two nice elevators with a view of the courtyard, whilst you're going up or down, inside the building.Overall, the staff were good, the food was average to good (plenty of nice restaurants in adjoining streets if you don't like the hotel menu), and the rooms all have balconies with pleasant views from most... but the rooms are showing their age.The mattresses were poor quality, the curtains are inadequate to keep out 100% of the light... so our sleep was not the best we've ever had. I think I'd choose a newer hotel or motel if I go back to Bunbury. The tariff is high in the Lord Forrest, for what they provide.
