Quinninup has a population of 160 and is approximately 325 kilometres So of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. Nestled amongst tall Karri trees, Quinninup is approximately 350 kilometres south of Perth, 20 minutes from Manjimup and Pemberton.
The history dates back to the early 1800's. The 1920's saw land released for farming and in 1947, the timber company Millars established a mill, housing, shop, post office and workers social club. The mill was sold and disbanded in 1982, and Karri Lake was conceived and the original settlement was taken up by people eager to pursue a lifestyle in harmony with forested surroundings.
Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the forest, relax by the fire or sit on your verandah and take in the clean fresh air. Quinninup has some lovely walks to take advantage of and wildflowers abundant in the springtime. Soak up the sight of the majestic Karri trees of our State Forest, picnic on the banks of the Karri Lake or just relax and enjoy a meal or refreshment in the historic workers social club.
Explore the area by car or four wheel drive, Quinninup is close to galleries, arts and craft centres, marron and trout farms, wineries, national parks, the Diamond Tree and the Pemberton Tramway.
Quinninup is ideally located while exploring the south west corner of Western Australia, twenty minutes from Manjimup and Pemberton, fifty minutes from Windy Harbour and Salmon Beach and is about one and a quarter hours drive from Walpole, The Tree Top Walk and The Valley of the Giants.
