City Beach is approximately 8 kilometres west of Perth. It was the winner of the 1999 Best Beach Award, presented by Keep Australia Beautiful Council.
With the backdrop of green reserves and ultra-modern residences, City Beach is only a 15 minute drive from the Perth city centre. Ample parking is available.
City Beach is the venue for National Surf Lifesaving carnivals and is a popular swimming place for many Perth residents. Fishing is also a favourite pastime for locals in the evenings. Beautifully landscaped recreational areas and modern facilities add to its appeal.
Public toilets with disabled facilities, change rooms and outside showers are available. There's also a children's playground to keep the kids amused. Why not make the most of the public barbecues on offer or grab some refreshments from the kiosk. Oceanus Restaurant offers exceptional dining and spectacular panoramic views.
The beach provides very safe swimming, however swimmers are advised to stay between the groynes and between the swimming flags.
