Los Chasquis have been performing South American music since 1984. The music they play is that of the Andes, the mountain range that runs the seaboard of South America.
Los Chasquis features the Quena - a bamboo flute, the Zampona - a South American pan flute, the charango - a small stringed instrument, the bombo - a type of drum and the guitar.
The compound rhythms played on the guitar and charango compliment the haunting melodies played on the wind instruments, and the total effect evocative of the splendour of the Andes Mountains has won them an appreciative audience where ever they go.
