The Lakelands Country Club is located 20 minutes from the City of Perth in the northern suburb of Gnangara. The 18-hole course is the youngest private golf club in Perth, established in 1984. Lakelands Country Club is membership based with limited public access. Over the years, the layout of Lakelands Country Club has been progressively developed out of 70 hectares of bushland and as a result the natural course surrounds compliment the challenging layout designed by the late Brian Crafter.
The greens are second to none and the layout of the course, which also contains 59 bunkers, will test all levels of golfer. The course plays at varying degrees of difficulty depending upon the direction of the prevailing winds. On days when the wind is from the west, three of the par 5's are played directly into the wind. The signature hole on the course is the par 3 16th, across a lake to a slightly elevated green.
The clubhouse is licensed with full bar facilities and snack foods are available from the kitchen. Modern change rooms, buggy room and a large pro shop are also available for members. Visitors and corporate days are welcome.
Further Information
In recent years the quality of the golf course has been recognised by the Western Australian Golf Association by the awarding of the past three State Seniors Championships, the State Junior Championship and the 2005 State Amateur Championship. A strong junior golf program is available including clinics, competitions and a peewee program.
