Located in Perth, the Barracks Archway is a memorial to the early settlers, and is one of the city’s most significant landmarks.
The archway was part of the original military barracks built to house the Enrolled Pensioner Guards and their families.
Designed by Richard Jewell the archway was built by convict labour between 1863 and 1867. The barracks were demolished in 1966 with the arch the only remains.
