I just left the hostel and found it an amazing place. The rooms are clean and tidy. There is a free shuttle bus 4 times a day to the city. The staff are fantastic and try to help in any way possible. Would definitely recommend it.

I agree with most of the original review by John. I don't class this hostel as a backpackers as it lacks the 'vibe' or atmosphere associated with such places. It feels more like a long-stay hotel located in an industrial estate where seasonal workers stay (I was talking to at least one). I did ask about breakfast to the back of a disappearing member of staff and was told "down the corridor and turn left- you'll see when you get there." As far as I could tell, breakfast was a rack of cereal with an empty milk carton. Perhaps a better induction would help. I shipped out after one night and am now in the backpacker heart of Northbridge with plenty of choices of where to stay.
Response from Comfort Hostel
We as operators of such establishments are often criticized for the expectations of our guests. We are supposed to be the be all of their travels and when they fall short of their expectations they will look at anything to complain about.
When guests stay in a backpacker hostel at an unbelievably discounted rate and they hear that breakfast is included I'm sure they don't think that they are getting a full cooked and continental breakfast.
I believe that we offer a great service to all our guests and although our breakfast is simple it does exceed a lot of our guests expectations.

Left the hostel today 14 11 2006 after a six week stay. The hostel building and amenities though limited are probably the best that I have seen in a backpackers and the rooms and building interior are kept clean. The permanent staff have one member who claims to have been a b/packer but exhibits none of the attributes i.e friendliness and to realise that it is the punters who pay the wages.
On occasions the tardiness and rudeness shown to the customers needs to be observed to be believed, the business is coupled with a car rental outlet and the customers here are treated in a similar manner. Perhaps further training in contact with the public would help. Forget the endless rules, nobody enforces them.
