After spending much of the last 20 years staying in Sheratons, Marriots and the like, 8 Nicholson comes as a rare treat to the travel senses. Its simply quality in a relaxed atmosphere. The combination of old and new really works and the 4 rooms are superbly decorated with obvious touches from an interior design expert. In addition to the decor, the rooms actually work! Great care has been taken into thinking about how guests actually operate, from neat but simple features in the bathrooms, to making the bedroom itself a plesant environment for the business traveller and the tourist alike. I fell into the latter category and internet speeds are also lightening quick.
Modern art adorns the comfortable living areas and the many pieces of African sculpture work surprisingly well.
The hosts are charming and are as visible and informative as you want them to be. The quality of the home made breakfasts could not be faulted.
It is, quite simply, a rare treat
