Built in 1837, the Whalers Tunnel was created to give access from High Street to the Indian Ocean and runs underneath the Roundhouse.
The tunnel had been closed for many years, but was reopened to the public in 2001. There are many interesting stories to be learned about the history of the tunnel including how it was used in World War II.
