Guided tours to the observation deck include some historical and present day information about Fremantle Port and panoramic views of Perth, metropolitan beaches, Rottnest Island and Cockburn Sound.
The tours meet in the ground foyer that contains interesting displays and photographs.
The C.Y. O'Connor statue that stands in front of the building has four panels that commemorate his major works as Engineer-in-Chief in Western Australia from 1891.
