The granite from which the Porongurup Range is formed is more than 1100 million years old. Rich in unique plant life and abundant in native fauna, the area is a photographer’s paradise.
700 species of flowering plants and 78 species of birds, plus an extraordinary variety of lichen and orchids, call the Porongurup Range home.
The 2401 hectares of National Park has a rugged beauty which attracts bush walkers, plant enthusiasts, and bird lovers from all over the world.
The granite of Porongurup Range has been exposed by the weathering of the softer rocks surrounding the range. Well known for its beauty, the granite and rock formations are flanked by Karri forests and an understorey of wild flowers.
Many walk trails guide you through fascinating and diverse habitat. The Porongurup offers diverse vistas of the Stirling Ranges, farmland, vineyards and Olive groves plus wonderful vistas of the Porongurup Range.
