Kendenup

Overview
Bookmark

Kendenup is a small township located approximately 21.0 kilometres to the north of Mount Barker. Kendenup is an expanding country village with a fresh bread bakery, good wine stockist & real coffee on the way to the Stirling Ranges.

Located 345 km south east of Perth, Kendenup became the site of Western Australia's first gold mine in 1874. A must see in Spring time - climb Toolbrunup Mt Magog or Talyerbrup in the morning for some of the most stunning views you'll ever see. Canola fields look stunning in flower too.

Kendenup boasts limited accommodation options although the Kendenup Camp Grounds is a local favourite - cheapest spot in the great southern.

Things to do

  • See the Old Gold Mine - Western Australia's first gold mine
  • Stop through for lunch
  • Scenic drive though Canola fields
