Alex and Janet Taylor purchased the Poachers Ridge property in 1999 and continued the property's previous purpose of cattle grazing. In 2000, 7 hectares of vines were planted, including Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Riesling, Marsanne and Viognier. The first small crop was harvested in 2003 with a larger one arriving in 2004.
