Banksia Farm offers you a five hectare scenic wildflower garden easily located just two minutes from the Mount Barker Tourist Information Centre. Plantings of thousands of Australian native plants over 20 years has created a thriving ecosystem from a formerly denuded farm paddock.
This is the only place you will see the complete collection of 77 species and the 20 sub-species of the famous Australian Banksias, and the near complete collection of 136 Dryandras.
You can walk under giant Banksia trees, see abundant birdlife and possible glimpses of Australian marsupials or may choose one of the fascinating and interactive guided tour options.
Further Information
In the Joseph Banks Fine Art Gallery you will find some of Australia's best botanical artworks while enjoying great coffee and tasty homemade lunches in the modern facilities of a cosy cafe built from local timbers. You can also purchase wildflower books, craft items, fresh or dried flowers, Banksia seeds and pods.
