Four and a half hours' drive north of Perth, Morawa is a wheatbelt town. The surrounding area supports sheep and wheat farming.

During the months of August to October there is an abundance of beautiful wildflowers throughout the region. Attractions within the town include the Church of the Holy Cross, The Old Presbytery and Morawa Museum. The town also has a pub and a small shopping centre.

Morawa was settled about 1905 and declared a town in 1912. The first iron ore exported from Western Australia was mined at Morawa. Morawa has a hotel/motel, a caravan park and two farm stays.
