Situated 450 kilometres north of Perth and 100 kilometres inland from Geraldton Mullewa sits in the heart of the wildflower area known in the Mid West as the Wildflower Agricultural area.
The town is known as the gateway to the vast pastoral and mining areas of the Murchison goldfields in Outback Mid West, and is well known for its beautiful church, designed and built by priest-architect Monsignor John Hawes.
Mullewa is famous for its spectacular wildflower season, including carpets of flowers, usually July - October, and in particular, the Wreath Flower, Leschenaultia macrantha. Mullewa is an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding areas, and is easily accesible by sealed roads.
The town has basic hotel and motel accommodation, a modern caravan park, nearby station stay and the historic Pindar Pub, now a bed and breakfast establishment.
