Puntapin Rock is a large rock formation spanning an area of 60 acres. It serves the town's water supply and is located four kilometres south east of Wagin.
Puntapin Rock has been developed into a public picnic area and the Water Authority of Western Australia has permitted access to the rock's summit.
The visitor is requested to exercise observance of a notice board erected at the entrance to Puntapin Rock for the protection of the area that is still being utilised as a catchment area for water for human consumption. Observance of the notice board will also ensure continued access to the rock, which offers some spectacular views.
The Water Authority has erected a tourist information board on the rock's summit giving the history of the rock and other general items of interest. Wildflowers abound from September through to early December each year. The signs point the way. Toilet facilities available at the rock.
