Wave Rock is found just four kilometres east of Hyden. The Wave on Hyden Rock is one of Australia's most famous landforms, a giant surf wave of multicoloured granite about to crash onto the bush below.

Geologists believe the original formation has been sculptured and coloured by chemicals over 2,700 million years to take on it's wave-like character.

Wave Rock rises 15 metres above the ground, is more than 100 metres long and is like a giant wave about to break.
