Eagle Bluff is about eighteen kilometres from Denham on Hamelin Road, a viewing area for marine life on clear days from the top of the Bluff and a good fishing spot around the base of Eagle Bluff.
About twenty kilometres south of Denham is Eagle Bluff where a huge population of dugongs live. They can be seen in summer when they come close to the shore to feed on the sea grass in the area. It is claimed that Shark Bay has the world's largest population of Dugongs.
For those with a feel for history this is where Captain Denham carved the inscription on a rock from which the town derives its name. The rock weathered and fell from Eagle Bluff close to the high tide mark, so it was brought into Denham and placed in Pioneer Park.
