Snorkelling & Dive Sites 

There are many snorkelling sites along the Ningaloo coastline and a variety of ways to access them. The most well known of these sites is Turquoise Bay. Located 60 kilometres from Exmouth in the Cape Range National Park this crystal lagoon offers white sandy beaches and snorkelling over fabulous coral and marine life. Snorkelling within Turquoise Bay is quite rewarding and easy. Enter from the beach and snorkel over coral and marine life. Currents don't exit within the Bay but check the conditions to be sure.

Oyster Stacks in the Mandu Sanctuary Zone is an excellent snorkel site. You can either snorkel to the north or to the south of the car park. This area is great for fish life, but be careful when entering the water as the shoreline is covered in rocks in some places. It is best to snorkel at a incoming or high tide so check tidal conditions before entering the water. Lakeside is a great snorkel spot for swimmers of average fitness and capability. The site is located approximately 400 metres south along the beach from the camping area. Enter and exit at the small snorkelling sign and you'll find the coral and marine life fascinating.

Exmouth is an impressive diving destination all year round. Day tours to local dive sites can take you to many sites within the Ningaloo Marine Park. For example in Lighthouse Bay there are several dive sites, two of these are called the Labyrinth and Blizzard Ridge. The Labyrinth is a maze of crater-like enclosures, the area of a football field, and takes you through a variety of mysterious coral outcrops.

Blizzard Ridge is a fault line of reef running parallel to the coast, running in a northeast, southwest direction for about 250 metres. At 12 metres on top of the Ridge, it drops down to 15 metres. Many and varied marine creatures inhabit this dive site. Navy Pier is rated as one of the top dive sites in Australia. It provides the ultimate diving experience and should not be missed. Many varieties of pelagic, fish and invertebrate life abound.
