Ravensthorpe town is encircled by the ancient Ravensthorpe Range amid stately Salmon Gum trees, with endless unspoiled bush and a diversity of plants. Approximately two thirds of the district, renowned for its natural beauty of ancient ranges, rocky hills, rugged river valleys, estuaries and large inlets provides the area with a wealth of natural beauty.

The Shire of Ravensthorpe has a population of 1436 (ABS 2003), with Ravensthorpe town population of approximately 450.

  • Natural bushland, made up of two National Parks, Reserves and Vacant Crown Land, are all rich in geology, native flora and fauna including many rare species. Ravensthorpe is now a small sheep and wheat town which started life as a gold and copper mining town.

  • Take time off to view the wonderful wildflowers in bloom everywhere from August to November.
  • Wander up to one of the easily accessible lookout points for beautiful views.
