**February 8th 2009 – Virtually the entire township of Marysville in the Yarra Valley has been destroyed by bushfires, including hotels and popular tourist attractions.

  • Yarra Ranges National Park:
  • The Beeches Rainforest Walk, 15km from Marysville along Lady Talbot Drive. A spectacular 4km circuit walk through ancient rainforests.
  • Cumberland Walk, 16km from Marysville along the Woods Point Road. This 4km scenic walk through old-growth Mountain Ash and rainforest is steeped in history. It includes features such as The Big Tree, Cora Lynn Falls, Armstrong Lookout and Sovereign View. Ask for the Cambarville (Yarra Ranges National Park) park note from the Visitor Information Centre.

    • The Big Culvert, 15km from Marysville along the Woods Point Road, is a beautiful granite arch built in the 1860's tucked away in dark rainforest. Ask for the Cambarville (Yarra Ranges National Park) park note from the Visitor Information Centre.
    • Cora Lynn Falls
    • Keppel Falls Walk and Keppel Falls Lookout, 14km from Marysville along Lady Talbot Drive. A 2km walk along the Taggerty River takes you through dense tree fern gullies to this huge cascading waterfall.     Phantom Falls, 13km from Marysville along Lady Talbot Drive. A short steep 400metre walk takes you up to these charming fern shaded falls.
