This tour takes you past the regions finest historic homes and townships and has magnificent vistas of the Grampians range.

Travel north on the Wickliffe - Willaura Road to Willaura, visit the Hotel Gallery, sports ground and the historic bakery.
Consider the route back to Ararat along the edge of the Grampians Range on sealed and unsealed roads. Take Yarram Gap Road for approximately 9 km’s and turn north at Muirhead Road, then north on the Moyston - Dunkeld Road.
A detour on Mefeking Road to the bushland surrounding the extinct gold mining town of Mafeking is worthwhile. Continue on the Moyston - Dunkeld Road to Moyston.
If you opt to return to Ararat via Maroona, a pleasant stop is at Lake Bunninjon. The designated picnic area with a huge variety of bird life is at times inspiring.
