Langwarrin is a large rural and residential district, 45km south east of Melbourne and 5km inland from Frankston. Many beautiful parks and reserves surround this fast growing residential district, one of the fastest on the Mornington Peninsula.
To the south of the town is the Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve. Its aim is to protect native bushland from the spread of the housing estates. In the newer portions of the town, reserves have been laid out among the streets giving it an attractive lush rural atmosphere detached from the typical city suburb feel.
Located in Langwarrin on nine hectares of bushland is the McClelland Gallery. It is the regional public gallery for Frankston and is housed in a purpose-designed building, which contains two large galleries, a cafe, sculpture courtyards, a shop and a library.
