The Ian Potter Museum of Art at the University of Melbourne has a dynamic program of exhibitions, lectures and events. The art collections of the University of Melbourne - managed by the Ian Potter Museum - includes the many sculptures located in the grounds, as well as other art collections such as the Ernst Matthaei Collection of Early Glass and the Baillieu Library Print Collection.
The collection of contemporary art includes Australian and international artists. The collections are the result of significant bequests, donations and acquisitions through purchase and commission, along with a small number of works on loan from private lenders. Architect Nonda Katsalidis designed the building.
