St Kilda 

Not to be confused with St Kilda Road, St Kilda itself is a suburb south from the city along St Kilda Road and down Fitzroy Street. Australia’s great melting pot, “groovy” St Kilda is one of Melbourne’s most famous suburbs and is certainly worth a visit.

The markets (Sundays) is classified as the oldest art and craft market in Melbourne. Originally created to give the local artists greater public exposure, you can find hand-painted wooden beads, leatherwork, glass, paintings and wacky sculptures.

The pier provides panoramic views of the Melbourne skyline and Port Phillip Bay, and is a popular destination for strolling, cycling, roller blading and fishing. Catch a ferry to Williamstown, enjoy a snack at the kiosk or try to spot the penguins and native water rats from the breakwater.

For food, for fun, St Kilda is a relaxing and cosmopolitan experience that shouldn’t be missed.
