The suburb of Hampton is at the hub of the Bayside City municipality that extends alongside the Port Phillip Bay foreshore from Beaumaris to Brighton. Hampton initiated as a beach retreat for Melbourne’s affluent that congregated in the coffee gardens and hotel salons in the shade of Ti Tree groves on Pic-Nic-Point in the 1880s.

The Bayside suburbs hug a coastal strip that covers 37sqkm of a quantity of Melbourne’s most exclusive real estate.

Today, the region offers tourists and locals alike, a complete variety of recreational land and water endeavours. Through the council's “Coastal Art Trail”, everyone has the chance to repeat the steps of the mass of famous painters motivated by the local panorama.
