The movement between Melbourne and the Bendigo goldfields resulted in the development of Romsey as a town by the 1950's, originally named Five Mile Creek the town was renamed only 6 weeks later, Romsey.
Today Romsey continues to be a thriving and vital community. The town's heritage has been largely preserved with community pride, including magnificent Huntingdon elm trees, which line the main street.
