Weddings at Kilgour 

We considered having our wedding reception held here. When we arrived we told the waitress that we were here for an appointment. A woman came out and talked over the top of us for about 30 minutes, wouldn't even give us a chance to ask her questions! We managed to ask the basics, if it held 100-110 people, yes, for a sit down function, yes, and was our date free, yes. So we came back another time after being impressed by the view and it happened again, she was rude and wouldn't let us talk. The food was terrible. I had lamb (about 2 pieces of cold lamb as well as a kidney on my plate). Also on the plate was a rectangle of potatoes that was also cold and hard. Forgiving all these indiscretions my fiancé and I booked a date and paid $1000 for the deposit. About 2.5 months later, I called to enquire about the exact pricing for our menu. Only to be told that they couldn't cater for our numbers, not even 20 people below what we originally asked for. So as you can imagine my fiancé and I were in a panic. We quickly called another winery to check if there were any dates free. Luckily there was! So I called Kilgour and told them we would take our business elsewhere if we could have our deposit back. She told me that they had already spent our deposit money and that she wouldn't be able to give it to me for a few weeks and that I would only be receiving it via mail. $1000 in the post!! I don't think so... So I offered to come in and personally get the money only to be hung up on.
