Wodonga is located on the banks of the Murray River, and known as part of the twin town Albury-Wodonga area - on the NSW-VIC border.
Wodonga is the first town travellers come to when travelling south on the Hume Highway in Victoria. The area offers much to entice the traveller with many points of historical and cultural interest as well as water activities.
For thousands of years, the Murray River has been a vital source of nourishment for the land that surrounds it and has played a significant part in the history of Australia’s people.
Enjoy the beauty and majesty of the Murray River by paddle steamer or pack a picnic and admire it from the riverbanks. Wodonga boasts many well-maintained parks and gardens. Over 45km of cycling & walking paths provide the opportunity to enjoy scenic routes that link the City or strol by the river.
Wodonga offers quality restaurants, coffee shops and taverns offering wonderful food and entertainment for locals and visitors alike. Wodonga Sports & Leisure Centre offers top class sporting facilities and the Gateway Village offers arts & crafts.
Albury-Wodonga was once touted as a possible federal capital and the ambience imbued by the city’s architecture is a reflection of these grand plans.
