Overview

Corryong is perhaps most famous for being the final resting place of Jack Riley, the man considered by many to have been the inspiration for the hero in Paterson's poem, 'The Man from Snowy River'. By taking to the mountains on horseback, you can answer the same call to adventure that led Jack Riley to live out his days here.

  • The trail ride operators in the region are among the very best and cater for riders of all levels of experience. You can enjoy a leisurely hour’s ride down a shady forest trail or your skilled guides can take you on a physically challenging, 10-day tour of the more remote wilderness areas.

Getting There

  • 437 km north-east of Melbourne via the Hume Freeway and Murray Valley Highway
  • 116 km east of Wodonga
  • Access from NSW is via Thredbo and Khancoban
