Your visit to Echuca-Moama should begin at the historic Port of Echuca, the world's largest paddle steamer port. This area was the centre of trade for inland Australia for much of the 1800's. Today you can relive that history at the fully restored and operative port.
A good way to start is by a trip along the Murray on a paddle steamer. Choose from the PS Pevensey, PS Alexander Arbuthnot and PS Adelaide. Cruises vary - some with lunch, commentary, dinner or overnight packages.
Back at the redgum wharf explore a host of other entertaining and educational attractions. Escorted tours are available or explore for yourself. The Star Hotel with its underground bar and escape tunnel is intriguing.
Join the shipwrights and their apprentices as they continue to restore the Murray fleet, ride in a horse drawn carriage, watch the craftsmen who turn redgum into a piece of art or explore Sharp's Movie House and Penny Arcade.
The port is undoubtedly the hub of Echuca - it sets the trend for other delights you can experience as you tour this popular holiday region. With high expectations of things ahead, you will depart with the urge to return and do it all again.
