Mt Martha is a popular residential and holiday destination on the eastern Port Phillip shoreline. It is one of the loveliest areas in the region with its tree-fringed beaches and high lookouts from the summit of Mt Martha, as well as a foreshore reserve with lookout over Port Phillip Bay.
The Balcombe Creek estuary flows down toward the bay at Mount Martha and is perfect for boating and swimming. At times when tides permit, the Balcombe Creek will flow into the bay. Explore the pristine waterway environment along a boardwalk, which follows the creek.
A village of small shops near to the main beach services the town and The Briars Historic Park on the edge of town boasts an 1840s National Trust homestead, restaurant, wetlands, woodlands, vineyard and interpretation centre. Mt Martha also has a golf course.
