The district of Moorooduc is located 48km south east of Melbourne and 8km inland from Frankston. This farming district forms the rural heart of the Peninsula's northern plains, and boasts many thoroughbred estates, orchards and wineries, as well as a range of alternative farming ventures.
The drier, broader country of the Moorooduc district provides a distinct microclimate for Peninsula's wines, especially of the red grape variety. The town has a large antique centre and an expansive golf course and is close to all the attractions and amenities of Frankston.
Access to Moorooduc is easy via the Moorooduc Highway, which connects with the freeway to Melbourne. The Highway has a variety of tourist attractions such as the Victorian Raptor Centre and the cultural centre located on the site of the original Moorooduc Coolstores.
