Situated on Bass Strait and Western Port Bay and centrally located to many wineries, it offers both surf and safe beach recreation, great fishing and diving, fantastic golfing, delicious and diverse dining, antique and curio shopping as well as a wide range of comfortable accommodation options.

This 19th century fishing town overlooks the waters of Bass Strait and Western Port Bay, boasting unparalleled views of Phillip Island, The Nobbies and Seal Rocks.

An air of peacefulness characterises Flinders, although its popularity as a holiday retreat has spawned a number of architect designed homes during recent years. Town life for locals is largely centred on the landmark Flinders Hotel.

  • The first Flinders Pier was built in 1864-5 and in 1869 it became the site for a submarine cable to Tasmania. Elaborate guesthouses were established to cater for those attracted by its retreat appeal. A flourishing golf club was established from the early 1900’s, which today is one of the most scenically sited courses in Australia.
