Overview

Dip Falls is located in the Dip River Forest Reserve on Mawbanna Road. The falls are two tiered and there are two ways in which to observe them. One is to use the newly built balcony that looks out over the Falls. The second is to climb down the steep set of steps that descends to the bottom where there are unique rock formations. There are also some interesting very short walks in the area.

A kilometre past Dip Falls is the aptly named ‘Big Tree,’ a eucalypt obliqua some 17 metres in girth. There is a wooden walkway that circumferences the 400 year old tree, with another short walk for those that are interested.

Facilities

  • There is a well appointed picnic area located right on the river
  • Rest room facilities are available but they have no power
  • The car park by the road is virtually on top of the falls
  • The pathways to the viewing platform and the Big Tree are suitable for disabled access
