Scottsdale

Overview
Bookmark

Scottsdale is a pleasant, busy town surrounded by farmlands. See crops growing, contented dairy cows grazing and forests providing shade and tranquillity.

Scottsdale is a well laid out town, everything you need is within 3 blocks. A hospital, high school, gymnasium, pool and golf course are all handy.

If you like sport this is the country town for you: work off your energy at tennis or lawn bowls or squash or golf and then relax with a swim in the heated pool. For a relaxing afternoon take a picnic to the Mount Maurice Forest Reserve. Drive a mere 20km to the north coast beaches, Bridport for example, where three people make a crowd.

Things to do

  • Forest Eco Centre - The EcoCentre is a focus for forest-based tourism and recreation activities in the North-East and acts to inspire visitors to explore and enjoy the diverse forest types of the region. The distinctive shape of the Forest EcoCentre creates an environment designed for maximum energy efficiency. One of the most exciting features of the attraction is the greenhouse-style interpretive centre on the ground floor, featuring species from the major forest communities of North-East Tasmania. Additional interactive interpretive displays focusing on local forest history and the hardwood and softwood plantations that are so important to the economy of the North-East is also a major feature of the centre.
