Craigie Knowe is a boutique vineyard at Cranbrook on Tasmania’s east coast. Cranbrook is located between Swansea and Bicheno, two hours north east of Hobart.
Established in 1979, Craigie Knowe vineyard has five hectares of vines, producing a range of fine cool climate wines including pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon and some Bordeaux varieties. The vineyard opens by appointment for tastings and sales from their range.
Tasmania has over 200 vineyards, producing more than 6,500 tonnes of grapes per year. While east coast vineyards are generally small, quality remains high.
This area is renowned for having the greatest hours of sunlight in Tasmania, with ideal growing conditions producing some of the state’s finest wines. Other east coast vineyards include Freycinet, Apsley Gorge, Spring Vale, and Bream Creek.
Why not match your favourite Craigie Knowe wine with a platter of fresh-from-the-sea east coast oysters or a creamy Tasmanian brie or aged cheddar cheese.
