The Despard Gallery was established in Despard Street, Hobart in July 1987. Twenty years on the gallery has consistently blended established and emerging artists working in various mediums including painting, sculpture, photography and mixed media.
Since 1993 we have participated in seventeen expositions throughout the USA, including SOFA Chicago, New York and Miami. As a result, Despard Gallery has won Tasmanian art exporter of the year on three separate occasions.
This has been and continues to be in conjunction with promoting our artists through solo and group exhibitions, both locally and nationally.
Further Information
Despard Gallery has participated in the prestigious Melbourne Art Fair over sixteen years, with July 30 to August 3 in 2008, being our eighth event.
