Innes National Park encompasses spectacular coastal landscapes, a diversity of wildlife habitats and a wide range of recreational opportunities. Hear the waves crash on the beaches, the wind whispering through the she oaks, view the rugged coastlines sculpted by the Southern Ocean and wander through the remnants of South Australia's mining and maritime history. Further inland, a chain of salt lakes occurs amongst the mallee woodlands.

Located on the south west tip of Southern Yorke Peninsula, Innes National Park covers an area of 9100 hectares which is mainly mallee woodland, coastal heath and stable coastal dune areas. The coastline offers some spectacular coastal scenery, many secluded beaches and wide sandy beaches. Innes National Park is only three hours drive from Adelaide.

Innes National Park invites you to explore and enjoy its magnificent coastal scenery and isolated sandy beaches and welcomes you to dive, surf and fish the clear blue Southern Ocean of meander through the ruins of a once booming mining township.

Listen to the birds, look for wildflowers or simply appreciate the peace and serenity of the environment. Innes has all this to offer and much more. Due to its location, Innes is very popular with anglers, surfers and beach lovers who delight in the clear, sparkling ocean and magnificent secluded beaches.

The park comprises 9,323 ha of natural coastal mallee, representing one of only a few pickets of significant vegetation on the Yorke Peninsula, making it an important National Park for biodiversity.

Visitor centre, sales outlet, toilet and shower block at Pondalowie Bay Campground. Drop toilets at Surfers Camp, Shell Beach, Cable Bay and Browns Beach. Rota loo at Pondalowie Boardwalk. Drinking water limited recommend that drinking water is brought with you.

There is a general store at Stenhouse Bay which sells fuel (diesel, super and unleaded), gas, ice and bait, take away food and liquor.

  • The Yorke Parks Pass allows visitors to enter Innes National Park as many times as they wish and also camp for five nights. The pass is valid for twelve months and costs $70, price includes GST.
