Port Victoria

Overview
Bookmark

On the west coast of the Peninsula on Spencer Gulf, Port Victoria is known as the last of the windjammer ports because it was where the great grain races to Britain started last century. The last sailing ships left Pt Victoria for Europe as recently as 1949.

Relics from this era can be seen at the local Maritime Museum and a waterproof map marks a scuba diving trail to eight shipwrecks around nearby Wardang Island.
