The Wrattonbully wine region is situated on the Limestone Coast in South Australia. This region contributes significantly to the South Australian wine industry, producing large quantities of fruit for the many surrounding wine regions as well as it's own individual production.
The main town in this region is Naracoorte, near to where the first commercial vineyard was established in 1968. This region is privileged to have the unique soil of terra rossa, a very fertile soil that has encouraged the production of red wines.
Today, the region is home to some of the biggest names in the nations wine industry. These companies produce masses of fruit for both red and white table wines.
Due to the quality of the soil and the establishment of well known wine companies, this region is producing first class wines. The region is especially concentrating on the red varieties that are produced.

Harvest time: Late March to late April. The region has never had many cellar doors, or attractions for the door to door tourist. However, the establishment of an outlet for one of the companies in this region has made the prospect more attractive for the wine enthusiast.
