Alligator Gorge is a spectacular location, just kilometres from Wilmington in the Flinders Ranges. The eleven-kilometre journey ends at a delightful picnic area perched atop a spur with campsites at Teal and Eaglehawk dams below.
Access to Alligator Gorge is made easy with stairs descending to the gorge floor. Once you touch down, you can take a three-hour journey north to the Rangers office beyond the remains of a fossilised lakeshore appearing as rippled Terraces. If you desire, you can venture south along the creek through a remarkable red canyon where you will see moss gardens and hear only frog calls and echoes during you 1-hour journey.
