The Simpson Desert National Park is Queensland's largest; a rugged, harsh terrain featuring sand dunes, spinifex grasslands and desert wildlife.

• Despite the harsh conditions the park conserves suitable habitat for a range of species which have adapted to the desert enviroment. Plants like Sandhill Canegrass's, Spinifex's and Wattle trees's are shelter for many lizards, insects, Mulgaras and over 160 species of birds.
