Clare is a beautiful village boasting fine dining, superior wine, and exceptional accommodation. From humble rural beginnings, it is regarded as one of South Australia's premier wine regions.

With a rich cultural tapestry dating back 160 years, and more than 35 cellar doors, the Clare Valley is perfect for holidays where you want to immerse yourself in the finer things in life.

The Riesling Trail, which begins here in Clare, is a 25km walking and cycling route linking the many world-renowned boutique wineries and towns between Auburn and Clare - the trail affords some truly stunning vistas.

Time your visit to coincide with the Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend, one of the first of its kind in Australia - held every May. You'll find rodeos, country shows, antique fairs, races & more.

Nestled within the wooded hills of the northern Mt Lofty Ranges, the village looks as though it were plucked straight from the Tuscan countryside.

There are 3 pubs in town, all within a couple of minutes walk from each other. For nightlife, Bentleys Hotel at the southern end of the main street is a great spot to enjoy a drink and regular live music.

For those with a keen interest in sports, theres the highly rated Clare Golf Course, lawn tennis courts and bowling greens, as well as cricket, cricket, croquet, squash and swimming facilities.

One of the regions best-known farm attractions is Geralka Rural Farm, 25km north of Clare. Originally part of land settled in 1841, the sheep and cropping farm has welcomed visitors since 1972.
