Williamstown is a pleasant, quiet little town named after William Johnston, a son of Lewis Johnston, who purchased land there from Thomas Adams in 1857. It is located 51 kms from Adelaide on the edge of the Barossa Valley and the Adelaide Hills.
Visit the Barossa Reservoir and Whispering Wall, a unique acoustic effect that allows sound to travel long distances. Words whispered at one end can be heard at the other end more than 100 metres away. Apart from being a fascinating attraction, the wall provides a scenic view of the Barossa Reservoir. Also on display is a collection of water supply heritage items.
Williamstown offers a choice of bed and breakfast and caravan park accommodation. It is the ideal base for exploring the vineyards, wineries, walking trails and beautiful parks of the scenic Barossa Valley.
