Yorkeys Knob

0 reviews | Write a review

Yorkeys Knob, a cute little town on the Great Barrier Reef, just 15 minutes north of Cairns is a great place to go if you feel like getting out of the hustle and bustle of the city and really unwinding.

Adjacent to Machans Beach and Holloways Beach, you’ll be pleased to know palm-fringed Yorkeys Knob has a safe swimming beach as it is patrolled and has protected stinger nets throughout summer.

Swim, sail, wind-surf, snorkel or dive in the tropical waters, or, if you feel like exploring something else equally spectacular, why not venture into the World Heritage rainforest on a magical walk?

Back in town, there’s a number of restaurants on the marina, a small shopping centre, accommodation, sporting activities and car hire available.

Things to do

  • Visit restaurants and see yachts at Half Moon Bay Marina
  • Go jet-skiiing or take a canoe out on the beach
  • Play a game of golf at the Half Moon Bay Golf Club
  • See wildlife such as bottlenose dolphins
