Mother Of Ducks is lovely

Posted by madza from Cabarlah, Australia

Mother of Ducks is a lovely old Queenslander. I would not say that it is smelly and everything is falling apart. I have been there with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay not minding the cost per night. I would recommend that if you have a chance you should go visit 'Cloudlake' for it is a lovely, homey environment, there is all kinds of entertainment which my kids loved including guinea fowl and chickens and an enchanted fairy walk. Cloudlake is well maintained.

Best Chill Out Weekend Ever

Posted by Smith01 from Mountain Creek, Australia

For anyone who has ever dreamed of finding a hidden mountain retreat, where they can truly escape the hustle and bustle of daily stress and totally unwind, then look no further than the gorgeous accommodation at Cloudlake.

We recently stayed in Mother of Ducks, a lovely and inviting Queenslander style house situated on the edge of a peaceful lake, with wrap around verandas and gorgeous furniture. The house was full of fresh flowers and a breakfast basket ready in the fridge.

Sitting in front of the fireplace was very welcoming after spending the sunny days wandering the gorgeous gardens, as was the scrumptious breakfast basket with coffee, organic eggs and bacon, croissants and fresh juice.

We totally enjoyed our family weekend away here, and our young children had a fabulous time. I had read numerous positive reviews in Country Style magazine and The Courier Mail and the service and accommodation lived up to its excellent reputation.

We will definitely be back again and have highly recommended Cloudlake Mountain Retreat to everyone we know.

Absolute nigtmare

Posted by Mike71 from Hemmant, Australia

'Mother of Ducks' cottage is an absolute nightmare. It is advertised as a 100-year old cottage, however the advertisement does not mention that it has not been renovated or cleaned during those 100 years. It was smelly, whatever I touched was falling apart and it was dangerous for kids. Not something you would expect for $290 per night. I spent two hours with my family inside and run away the same day. I still had to pay for the stay.
