Toompine Hotel 

Toompine pub is a place that only those who have visited it can appreciate its unique outback beauty. The meals are quality in both size and taste, surprising for a pub in the middle of nowhere. The staff, who I believe were Greg and Jones, were extremely hospitable and we got talking to them for a couple of hours. The gala and cockatoo also didn’t mind a chat!!! The pub has its own array of animals that also kept us entertained. A camel, two donkeys, a pig, several goats, pet lambs and alpacas added to this unique setting. I must say the natural wildlife itself was splendid. Plenty of native birds also called Toompine home and my husband Rob caught us a feast of yabbies in the local creek. We camped by a tennis court adjacent to the pub, with free access to power, showers and toilets. By night two Rob gave in and we ended up hiring one of their air-conditioned accommodation rooms. All in all our stay was terrific and we will definitely be calling back one day in the near future. Monna
