One of the warmest welcomes I've ever received on my travels was at the Copper Gate Motel in Mt Isa. The owners couldn't have been kinder - and the pool in the secluded garden was a delight. You can linger at tables under a paved, tree-shaded yard, and the rooms are surprisingly spacious.
Great value too.
